- Arrival in the country Entry and exit of foreigners is allowed ONLY through the international airports of the cities of Mandalay , Yangon and Naypyidaw .
- Mobile connection In Naypyidaw, Yangon and Mandalay, communication and Internet are good; 4G is available too; but short-term interruptions are possible due to power outages. On the coastal regions, mobile communications and the Internet are intermittent; majority of the hotels have wi-fi. A SIM card can be purchased upon arrival at the international airports. The most common operators are MPT, Ooredoo, Telenor (now ATOM Myanmar) and MyTel.
- Currency exchange
The local currency is Myanmar kyat (MMK). There are banknotes in circulation in denominations of 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000, 5000 and 10,000 kyat.

- Use of Credit/Bank Card
Credit cards are generally accepted in banks, most hotels in the cities, fine dining restaurants, department stores and shopping malls. ATMs and payment systems accept international cards, but work intermittently. It’s more convenient to have cash. There are no ATMs on the coastal regions. It is IMPORTANT to have new dollar bills, without creases and stains.
- Visa, Master, Union Pay Cards are generally accepted in banks, most hotels and fine dining restaurant; cafes; department stores and shopping malls; clinics and pharmacies in big cities.
